1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name], [Registered address] ("we", "us"), for using the TraceMe website at traceme.live and the TraceMe apps (together, "TraceMe"). By creating an account or using TraceMe you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use TraceMe.
2. Who can use TraceMe
- You must be at least [13] years old, or have a parent or guardian set up and supervise your use.
- You must give accurate details and keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person per account. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else.
3. Consent comes first
TraceMe is for sharing location between people who agree to it, such as family members, friends or a team.
- Only share or view a person's location with that person's knowledge and consent (or, for a child, with the consent of a parent or guardian).
- Do not install TraceMe on someone else's phone, or attach a GPS tracker to someone's vehicle or belongings, without their permission.
- Do not use TraceMe to stalk, harass, threaten or control anyone.
We will suspend or close accounts that break these rules and may report serious cases to the authorities.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights or privacy;
- upload unlawful, offensive or misleading content, including group names and profile photos;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around limits and security;
- overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or disrupt TraceMe, or send automated requests except through features we provide;
- resell TraceMe or use it to build a competing service.
5. Groups, admins and share links
- The person who creates a group is its owner. The owner can make other members admins. Owners and admins can invite and remove members and can see the location of everyone in the group.
- Joining a group means its members can see your location while you share it. You can leave any group at any time.
- Anyone with a share link can see what it shares until it expires or you stop it. Only send links to people you trust.
6. GPS trackers
If you connect a GPS tracker, you confirm that you own it or are allowed to use it, and that you have the consent of anyone it tracks. You are responsible for the tracker's SIM, data plan and installation.
7. Location accuracy and safety
Locations come from phones and trackers and depend on GPS, mobile signal, battery and phone settings. They may be late, inaccurate or missing. Do not rely on TraceMe where a wrong or missing location could cause harm.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add (such as your name, photo, group names and places). You allow us to store and process it only to run TraceMe for you and the people you share with, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Our service
- We may change, add or remove features, and may set limits (for example on the number of groups, members or devices).
- We try to keep TraceMe available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may pause it for maintenance.
- TraceMe, its name, logo, design and software belong to us. These terms do not give you any rights to them other than using TraceMe as intended.
- Prices: TraceMe is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price and terms before you pay.
10. Suspension and ending your use
You can stop using TraceMe and delete your account at any time in the app or at traceme.live/delete-account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
11. Disclaimer and limit of liability
TraceMe is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by inaccurate, delayed or missing locations or notifications. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to [the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or INR 1,000 if you paid nothing]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
If you misuse TraceMe or break these terms, including by tracking someone without consent, you agree to cover the losses and costs this causes us.
